Keys to this House
Take 'em, take 'em, the keys to this house
I hand them over to you...
Take 'em, take 'em, the keys to this house
I hand them over to you
I have no use for them, despite my claims
After all, they're already Yours
I just needed to open
Needed to open
Needed to open the door
Been foolin' and kiddin' myself most the time
That Yours is Yours, and mine is mine
But I can't kid a kidder, in my foolishness found
I just had to give over to You
So take 'em, take 'em, the keys to this house
I hand them over to you
I have no use for them, despite my claims
Afterall, they're already Yours
I just needed to open
Needed to open
Needed to open the door
Ah too many times I forget and I turn to lock the door
Ah and I'm so sure
That I've put it together, there's no need to bother you
And as I turn, there You are, here You are
So take it, take it, the deed to this house
I sign it over to you
'though 'ready made plain, it's got Your name
Well in fact it's already Yours
I just had to sign over
had to sign over
had to sign over to You
I just needed to open
Needed to open
Needed to open the door

Commentary: The addition of the instrument knocks and "doorbell" is a real band plus. =) Here's an "old one" that we've reworked for our present gigs. A favorite of some. Addresses the facade of thinking that we are in control, not needing the One who created us. Comes around to the admission to this thinking and the need for continually "coming back". rm
